Bakersfield College’s Student Government strives to provide the students of Bakersfield College with a positive and rewarding college experience. Our main goal is to make sure STUDENTS’ voices are heard by the College's faculty, administrators, classified staff, Committees, Boards and Councils, the Community, Kern County, and the state of California.
Events such as Fall Welcome Week, Homecoming, Spring Fling and Spring Welcome Week are facilitated by SGA. SGA regulates clubs to ensure they are operating equitably and following SGA By-laws and Constitution and College policy. SGA is also responsible for allocating funds to clubs and organizations for events and activities that can be enjoyed by the student body.
